I apply about five drops of Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution ($90) directly onto my acne scars, sunspots and moles every night and have done so for the past six weeks.
The dark spots have since lightened by about 30 per cent and its edges have faded.
Its light serum texture is also easily absorbed by my skin.
In the potent mix: Activated C (a new generation of Vitamin C extracts), white birch and peony
Verdict: A- for dark spot lightening
Next, I’ll smoothe on a thin layer of this wonderful product on top of the Kiehls’ serum.
Clarins’ Orchidee Huile Orchidee Bleue (Blue Orchid Face Treatment Oil, $80) is liquid gold.
Made from 100 per cent plant extracts, it is perfect for dehydrated skin and for those who sleep in air-conditioned rooms. (As you can see, I’ve already used up half a bottle…)
Its texture might be oily but it melts into the skin and leaves behind a silky finish.
Another plus: It smells just like the essential oils that spas use for those calming massages.
And it contains patchouli, rosewood, blue orchid extracts and hazelnut oil to rejuvenate and calm skin. Plenty of good stuff!
This oil is often used in the facial treatments at Clarins Institutes. After a long day at work, its smell soothes my ragged nerves :)
I used to be plagued with dry, flaky skin on my cheeks and temple but now, I wake up with moisturised and glowing skin in the morning after using it for more than a month. I look as fresh as a daisy in the morning even after pulling an all-nighter.
Tip: Drip five drops of the oil onto your palm, warm it by rubbing your hands together for three seconds, cover your face with oil-coated hands, and press the product into your skin.
Bliss.
Verdict: A+ for moisturising
Goodnight!
